Tom Goates – Rifle
Long Distance Shooting Update - For months now the board has exhausted efforts to find a solution for those wanting to shoot rifles at distances greater than the current 100 yards we have available.
Many options were presented and evaluated but in the end it was the board’s decision not to build a new range or reopen the 200 yard line. We set about to try and negotiate with a third party individual or company that could offer the same amenities to our members wanting to shoot past 100 yards.
I am pleased to announce that the TLGC has reached an agreement with Ridge Runner Arms for the use of their 700 range by TLGC members. Ridge Runner has a range that offers 25, 50, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 & 700 yard distances. The range includes a covered shooting area as well as precision shooting benches.
The daily use fee negotiated for TLGC members is $10/day. This is 33% off the normal $15/day rate currently charged by Ridge Runner. Target stands and equipment rentals are optional. They offer automatic and suppressed firearms for rent, ammo, target stands and many other items at both their store on Highway 201 North as well at the range.
Hours of operation for the range are Wednesday - Sunday 10 AM – 4 PM. Wednesdays are also Senior Citizen day and senior age shooters can use the range for $7.
In order to receive the discount, TLGC member must show their current TLGC ID card, sign Ridge Runner’s use waiver and enjoy the range.
